Navy F/A-18 pilots aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt reported near-daily encounters with small, fast-moving objects during training exercises over an 18-month period, prompting internal Navy safety reports given the objects’ proximity to live training airspace and the resulting collision risk.
Assessment
Pilot Ryan Graves later went public with the reports, helping catalyze the current disclosure era; the sheer frequency and multi-pilot, multi-sensor (radar, infrared, visual) corroboration across the deployment period is considered by AARO and independent researchers alike to be one of the most substantively documented sets of unexplained military encounters, producing the GoFast Video and Gimbal Video.
