In September 2023, several people at a U.S. test site reported seeing an object they described in FBI interviews. The FBI Laboratory combined their accounts into a composite sketch: a site photo overlaid with an ellipsoid, metallic bronze object 130–195 ft long that seemed to “materialize out of a bright light in the sky” and then disappear instantly.[1]

Analysis
Differences between witnesses. The three released interviews describe the object as “metallic bronze,” “metallic/gray,” and as a “bright light over the horizon.”[1] That spread is normal for eyewitness reports, but it means the sketch is a best-fit combination rather than a picture of what any one person saw.
Possible explanations. Without the location or time, independent checks are impossible. A large, shiny object appearing from a bright light and vanishing suddenly could fit a sunlit balloon or aircraft catching and then losing the sun’s glare, or a test article at the site itself. The month and “test site” wording overlap with the Western U.S. Event a month later, but PURSUE does not say the two are connected.
New or previously released? New. The composite sketch’s file name suggests it was made in April 2024.
