DIFAA is an office of the Peruvian Air Force established in 2001 to receive, investigate, and classify reports of anomalous aerial phenomena within Peruvian airspace, one of the longer-running dedicated military UFO offices in Latin America.
Role
DIFAA’s work sits alongside Peru’s broader cultural and archaeological entanglement with UAP-adjacent claims, most notably the fabricated “Nazca mummies” specimens promoted internationally by Jaime Maussan, a matter DIFAA itself has not endorsed and which fell instead to Peruvian cultural and forensic authorities to formally debunk.
