David Fravor is a retired U.S. Navy commander and F/A-18 pilot who led the flight that intercepted and visually observed the object during the Nimitz “Tic Tac” encounter in November 2004, describing an object roughly the size and shape of a Tic Tac mint that reacted to his aircraft’s approach and then accelerated away at extreme speed.
Public role
Fravor has become one of the most frequently cited military witnesses in subsequent congressional and media coverage of UAP, including testimony at the 2023 Congressional UAP Hearing, consistently describing the object’s flight characteristics as inconsistent with any known aircraft technology.
Assessment
Fravor is widely regarded as a credible, highly experienced witness by both mainstream journalists and skeptical investigators, though the object’s ultimate identity remains officially unresolved.
