Alex Dietrich is a retired U.S. Navy aviator who flew as one of the intercepting pilots alongside David Fravor during the 2004 Nimitz “Tic Tac” encounter, providing an independent corroborating account of the object’s appearance and movement.
Assessment
Dietrich has spoken publicly about the psychological and professional difficulty many military pilots face in reporting such encounters given historical stigma, and has advocated for improved reporting mechanisms of the kind later implemented by AARO.
