The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has held the most prominent congressional UAP hearings of the current disclosure era, including the July 2023 hearing at which David Grusch testified and the September 2025 “Restoring Public Trust” hearing featuring additional whistleblowers including Jake Barber.
Role
As the House’s principal general-investigative committee, Oversight has broader jurisdictional latitude to examine UAP-related executive-branch conduct than the more narrowly scoped armed services or intelligence committees, which has made it the preferred venue for whistleblower testimony.
Ongoing work
Members including Anna Paulina Luna and Tim Burchett have indicated further hearings and legislative pushes for declassification are likely to continue through the current Congress.
