Farmer Renato Nicolai reported observing a lead-gray, disc-shaped object land briefly in his garden before departing; French space agency investigators from GEPAN collected soil and plant samples from the site within days for detailed laboratory analysis.
Assessment
Laboratory analysis found genuine physical and biochemical alterations to the soil and surrounding vegetation consistent with a significant, localized mechanical and thermal stress event, a rare instance of a UFO landing claim receiving rigorous, near-contemporaneous forensic scientific study; GEPAN’s official case classification rated it among its highest-confidence unexplained categories.
