Roswell Slides Hoax

Promoters, including Adam Dew, staged a large paid live-streamed event unveiling old photographic slides claimed to show a preserved alien body recovered from the 1947 Roswell incident, generating substantial pre-event publicity and ticket sales.

Assessment

Independent researchers quickly identified the same slide image, once the accompanying museum placard text was enhanced and read, as a mummified Native American child displayed at Arizona’s Mesa Southwest Museum in the 1950s, a mundane origin the museum itself confirmed; the case is universally regarded as a debunked hoax or, at best, a case of good-faith misidentification of an ordinary museum specimen photograph.
