Retired ferry captain Yalcin Yalman released hours of nighttime video reportedly filmed from his home over roughly two years, showing what appear to be small disc-shaped craft with a rotating, spherical top hovering over the sea, which received extensive coverage on Turkish and international television.
Assessment
Independent video analysts, including at least one enlisted for the original television documentary, identified visual characteristics — including a consistent rotation rate and the objects’ response to camera zoom — more consistent with small suspended models filmed at close range than distant aerial craft. The photographer’s continued refusal to allow independent access to source tapes for forensic study is cited by skeptics as a further red flag.
