Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos is a Spanish aeronautical engineer who has spent more than five decades compiling and statistically analyzing UFO reports across Spain and Europe, building one of the largest privately maintained case databases in the field.
Assessment
Ballester Olmos’s statistical approach, which emphasizes identifying explainable patterns across large case sets rather than championing individual dramatic reports, has led him to increasingly skeptical conclusions about the phenomenon overall in his later career, a trajectory shared by some other long-tenured researchers in the field.
