Travis Walton is an American logger whose five-day disappearance in November 1975, described in detail in the Travis Walton Abduction, occurred after six coworkers reported witnessing him struck by a beam of light from a hovering craft.
Assessment
Walton and most of his crew passed subsequent polygraph examinations regarding their basic account, an unusually strong evidentiary feature for an abduction claim, though one polygraph examiner’s initial negative result and questions about the test’s applicability to memory claims remain sources of ongoing debate among researchers such as Philip Klass.
