Carol Rosin is an American educator and advocate against weapons in space. She founded the Institute for Security and Cooperation in Outer Space and has promoted treaties banning space-based weapons. She says she served as spokesperson for rocket pioneer Wernher von Braun during the last years of his life (he died in 1977).[1]
PURSUE Release 01 included a NASA file containing the 1999 French COMETA report and a letter from Rosin describing that role.[2]
Assessment
Rosin is best known for her claim, made in 2001 testimony for Steven Greer’s Disclosure Project, that von Braun warned her the public would be frightened with a series of enemies (terrorists, asteroids and finally aliens) to justify weapons in space. There is no independent record of von Braun saying this, and his biographers do not mention it. Her claim remains unverified.
