The Senate Armed Services Committee, through its Emerging Threats and Capabilities Subcommittee, has become one of the primary venues for AARO’s routine reporting to Congress, including director Jon Kosloski‘s November 2024 open testimony detailing the office’s investigative methodology and case backlog.
Role
Because the committee has direct jurisdiction over the Department of War’s budget and programs, it holds significant leverage over AARO’s funding and staffing, and its members, including Senator Mike Rounds, have played a central role in shaping UAP-related NDAA provisions.
