Karl Pflock was a former Pentagon official and UFO researcher who conducted one of the most detailed independent investigations of the Roswell incident, ultimately concluding that the evidence most likely supported the official Project Mogul balloon explanation combined with unrelated later incidents accounting for “body” claims.
Assessment
Pflock’s willingness to reach a skeptical conclusion despite his standing within the ufology research community set him apart from more committed extraterrestrial-hypothesis proponents such as Stanton Friedman, with whom he maintained a long, respectful, and substantive public disagreement over the case.
