Klass’s aviation-industry expertise lent particular technical weight to his skeptical analyses of aircraft-related sightings, though his sometimes combative style and willingness to challenge witness credibility directly drew criticism from ufologists including Stanton Friedman, with whom he engaged in decades of public debate.
