Kevin Day is a retired U.S. Navy senior chief petty officer who was operating advanced radar systems aboard the USS Princeton in November 2004 when he first detected the anomalous object at the center of the Nimitz “Tic Tac” encounter, subsequently directing fighter aircraft including David Fravor‘s flight to intercept it.
Assessment
Day has given consistent public testimony describing objects appearing to descend from over 80,000 feet to sea level in seconds, a claim treated by AARO and independent radar analysts as one of the more technically significant elements of the case given corroborating multi-sensor data.
