Throughout 2024, AARO director Jon Kosloski and other officials provided both closed and, in some sessions, open briefings to Senate Armed Services and Intelligence committee members, updating lawmakers on the office’s growing case intake, its rate of resolving historical reports, and continuing challenges around data standardization across military branches.
Assessment
Officials reported that the substantial majority of new cases continued to be resolved as conventional objects (drones, balloons, aircraft, and celestial bodies) once sufficient sensor data was available, while a small residual percentage remained genuinely unexplained, consistent with findings in the earlier AARO Historical Record Report (Volume I).
