Thousands of reports of large, silent, triangular craft with powerful lights swept Belgium over several months, culminating in a March 1990 incident in which the Belgian Air Force scrambled F-16 fighters that briefly achieved radar lock on an object performing extreme accelerations inconsistent with any known aircraft, before it evaded pursuit.
Assessment
The Belgian military’s own subsequent analysis concluded the F-16 radar data likely reflected an atmospheric ground-clutter artifact rather than a genuine solid object, though this explanation has not been considered fully satisfying by many of the thousands of independent visual witnesses across the broader wave; the case remains one of the most extensively documented and debated European UFO events.
