Iranian Air Force F-4 Phantom jets scrambled to intercept a bright object reported by numerous civilians reportedly experienced communications and weapons-system failures as they approached it, an encounter later documented in a declassified U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency report forwarded through American defense channels.
Assessment
The case is frequently cited by UAP researchers as one of the most credible military-instrumented encounters given the multiple aircraft involved and the DIA’s own contemporaneous, non-dismissive documentation; no conventional explanation involving known aircraft or celestial objects has been considered definitive, and the case remains formally unexplained.
