| Status | Disputed / Unverified |
Farmer Joe Simonton reported that a landed, humming craft’s occupants, described as short men in dark, one-piece suits, silently requested water and gave him several small pancakes from the craft before departing.
Assessment
Air Force analysis of one surviving pancake sample found it to be an ordinary buckwheat pancake with no unusual properties. The case’s inherent oddity has made it a frequently cited example of the more whimsical end of the contact-claim spectrum; Simonton maintained his account without inconsistency for the rest of his life, though no independent corroboration exists.
