CRIDOVNI (Comision Receptora e Investigadora de Denuncias de Objetos Volantes No Identificados) is Uruguay’s official government UFO investigation commission, established in 1989 and still actively receiving and investigating civilian reports, making it one of the longest continuously operating official UFO bodies in the world.
Role and reputation
Operating under the Uruguayan Air Force, CRIDOVNI is frequently cited by international researchers, alongside France’s GEIPAN and Chile’s SEFAA, as a model of sustained, methodical, non-sensationalized government engagement with the subject, publishing periodic case classifications to the Uruguayan public.
