The U.S. Department of State manages American diplomacy through embassies and consulates worldwide. Its cables are a little-known source of UFO-related records, because diplomats routinely report on local news, government statements and requests from foreign officials.[1]
UFO-related records
PURSUE has released a July 1952 memo on rising U.S. UFO reports, a 1963 space-council memo on “the space alien race question,” embassy cables from Papua New Guinea (1985), Tajikistan about a sighting over Kazakhstan (1994), Georgia (2001), Turkmenistan (2004) and Mexico, and two 1963 cables showing the U.S. Consulate in Bahia, Brazil, debunking a crashed-sphere story.[2]
