James Leslie Tuck (1910–1980) was a British physicist who worked on the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos as part of the British mission and later led the laboratory’s controlled-fusion research (Project Sherwood).[1]
PURSUE Release 02 included personal correspondence to and from Tuck in the 1970s about unidentified aerial phenomena, released by the Department of Energy.[2]
Assessment
The letters show that some senior Los Alamos scientists maintained a private interest in UFOs, continuing the lab’s involvement with the 1948–1950 green-fireball reports. The release description does not say what conclusions, if any, Tuck reached.
